Good Morning Church,
We welcome you all to the house of God!
Today we will learn about “Divine Leading“.
Let us begin today with this verse…
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the Lord has spoken.
Deuteronomy 31:3
Many times, enemy wants to put us down, this includes failed New Year resolutions. Let me tell you, God doesn’t want you to fail, but He wants you to be victorious.
In the Bible, there are so many examples where people have confidence in God and lived their life joyfully and happily.
Noah was alone, yet he was safe amidst the flood.
We must believe that our God will not leave us, but He will live with us.
We know of two things about God:
1: He is an omniscient and omnipresent God.
Our God is always present with us and all the times.
Job believed in God. Because he knew when he had everything God was with him and when he was left with nothing, he knew that God was still with him and because of his faith, he was rewarded.
This year we are going to see a great breakthrough.
God said he will never leave nor forsake us.
Moses assures Israel of the constant presence of God with them. This is applied by the apostle to all God’s spiritual Israel, to encourage their faith and hope; unto us is this gospel preached, as well as unto them; he will never fail thee, nor forsake thee. Moses commends Joshua to them for a leader; one whose wisdom, and courage, and affection they had long known; one whom God had appointed to be their leader; and therefore would own and bless. Joshua is well pleased to be admonished by Moses to be strong and of good courage. Those shall speed well, who have God with them; therefore they ought to be of good courage. Through God let us do valiantly, for through him we shall do victoriously; if we resist the devil, he will flee from us.
2: God is faithful:
Whatever He has said, He will do it. When He says He will never leave us nor forsake us, this is going to happen.
So what should we do in order not to be afraid?
There are so many fears….
Job, Marriage, Climbing, Traveling etc.
Remember, fear will hold you down.
Elijah prayed with confidence and pyre lit up. Remember the widow? There was famine during that time, yet food was provided.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Let men beware how they call those prophets whom they choose after their own fancies, and how they consider their fancies and dreams to be revelations from God. False prophets flatter people in their sins, because they love to be flattered; and they speak smoothly to their prophets, that their prophets may speak smoothly to them.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:19
If you are making any decision out of fear, remember that this decision is not from God. Reject and rebuke that fear because thats from satan.
Don’t be discouraged with your temporary setbacks. Otherwise, discouragement will take you to depression.
Don’t look at your weaknesses but say, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me!”
Do not be afraid or dismayed!
Moses after 40 years, could have been discouraged failing to enter the promised land. Because, God was with him.
The Lord your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the Lord has spoken.
Deuteronomy 31:3
And Moses called unto Joshua.—In these words Moses formally delivers the charge of the people to Joshua, to lead them over Jordan. “He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee” —Repeated by Jehovah Himself. “Will not let thee go” is the exact meaning of “fail” here, “let me alone.”
Dear Church, if you feel fearful, anxious, worried or dismayed, remember what God said, “I will not leave you nor forsake you!” He will lift you up and give you the joy you are longing for, because He is the one and only God and he never fails.
We thank you all for joining us today, we look forward to see you all next Sunday. God bless!
