Good Morning Church!
We welcome you all back to the house of our Lord. We are going through times we never thought we would be going, though, it has been foretold hundreds and thousands of years ago, its just we didn’t expected that it may come all of a sudden. But understand this, He is in control. All we need to do is ask Lord, “What is your will for me Lord?“
God is calling each and everyone of us!
Today we will continue with the ‘Brokeness‘ series and today will be second part of this series starting from where we left last Sunday, “From Brokenness to Fullness!“
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
James 1:2-5
If you are unable to understand the brokenness of your life, you need to ask Him.
Illustration: During old days, patients had choice either they need alcohol to drink or something to bite to rey to forget the real pain in case of broken bones, as there was no anesthesia. They used to say this to encourage, “Pain of today will bring better tomorrow!”
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
The sufferings of the saints strike no deeper than the things of time, last no longer than the present time, are light afflictions, and but for a moment. How vastly different are the sentence of the word and the sentiment of the world, concerning the sufferings of this present time! Indeed the whole creation seems to wait with earnest expectation for the period when the children of God shall be manifested in the glory prepared for them. There is an impurity, deformity, and infirmity, which has come upon the creature by the fall of man. There is an enmity of one creature to another. And they are used, or abused rather, by men as instruments of sin. Yet this deplorable state of the creation is in hope. God will deliver it from thus being held in bondage to man’s depravity. The miseries of the human race, through their own and each other’s wickedness, declare that the world is not always to continue as it is. Our having received the first-fruits of the Spirit, quickens our desires, encourages our hopes, and raises our expectations. Sin has been, and is, the guilty cause of all the suffering that exists in the creation of God. It has brought on the woes of earth; it has kindled the flames of hell. As to man, not a tear has been shed, not a groan has been uttered, not a pang has been felt, in body or mind, that has not come from sin. This is not all; sin is to be looked at as it affects the glory of God. Of this how fearfully regardless are the bulk of mankind! Believers have been brought into a state of safety; but their comfort consists rather in hope than in enjoyment. From this hope they cannot be turned by the vain expectation of finding satisfaction in the things of time and sense. We need patience, our way is rough and long; but He that shall come, will come, though he seems to tarry.
In order to submit ourselves to God, we need to go through several phases. If there is no beginning, there is no end. God wants us to go through all those phases or processes in order to achieve the final goal. Submission to God leads to supernatural abundence among the presence of enemy. Only God can do this! Our God is a compassionate and loving God! Keep an eye on Jesus Christ.
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son.
Hebrews 11:17
After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
Genesis 22:1-2
We are often called to leave worldly connexions, interests, and comforts. If heirs of Abraham’s faith, we shall obey and go forth, though not knowing what may befall us; and we shall be found in the way of duty, looking for the performance of God’s promises. The trial of Abraham’s faith was, that he simply and fully obeyed the call of God. Sarah received the promise as the promise of God; being convinced of that, she truly judged that he both could and would perform it. Many, who have a part in the promises, do not soon receive the things promised. Faith can lay hold of blessings at a great distance; can make them present; can love them and rejoice in them, though strangers; as saints, whose home is heaven; as pilgrims, travelling toward their home. By faith, they overcome the terrors of death, and bid a cheerful farewell to this world, and to all the comforts and crosses of it. And those once truly and savingly called out of a sinful state, have no mind to return into it. All true believers desire the heavenly inheritance; and the stronger faith is, the more fervent those desires will be. Notwithstanding their meanness by nature, their vileness by sin, and the poverty of their outward condition, God is not ashamed to be called the God of all true believers; such is his mercy, such is his love to them. Let them never be ashamed of being called his people, nor of any of those who are truly so, how much soever despised in the world. Above all, let them take care that they are not a shame and reproach to their God. The greatest trial and act of faith upon record is, Abraham’s offering up Isaac, (Genesis 22:2). There, every word shows a trial. It is our duty to reason down our doubts and fears, by looking, as Abraham did, to the Almighty power of God. The best way to enjoy our comforts is, to give them up to God; he will then again give them as shall be the best for us. Let us look how far our faith has caused the like obedience, when we have been called to lesser acts of self-denial, or to make smaller sacrifices to our duty. Have we given up what was called for, fully believing that the Lord would make up all our losses, and even bless us by the most afflicting dispensations?
All you need to do is, fix your eyes upon Jesus in your Brokenness. Bible talks about fixing our eyes upon Him, over and over in His word.
Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.
Proverbs 4:25-27
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
2 Peter 1:3
There are ways to fix your eyes upon Him. No matter what the circumstances are, no matter what the situation is. In your brokenness, ask Lord, “What do we do?” And He will fix your Brokenness. It will be not only fixed, but you will achieve greatness beyond abundance.
And when you are broke, just pray, “I am broken, fix me Jesus!“
We hope your are encouraged with today’s lesson and look forward to fixing your eyes upon Jesus, from now and forevermore. We look forward to see you again next Sunday. God bless!
