You are Chosen for a Purpose – Part 3 | 2021 – Year of the Lord’s Favour | Aug 08, 2021

We are glad that all of you have joined to spend time together with God. Because of the pandemic we aren’t able to meet physically, nevertheless, these are incredible ways to worship and praise God.

We will again continue with our ongoing series, “You Are Chosen“, with it’s Part -3.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

You are the chosen generation! We thank God for that. The scriptures is very clear that He has a plan and purpose for each individual, group and nation. Bible affirms that Jesus came to this world for us to fulfill God’s purpose.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

John 10:10 tells that satan doesn’t wants God’s plan for people to be fulfilled. There are innumerous examples throughout the Bible where satan tries to deceives via temptation and similar other ways. Bible says satan is our enemy and so is temptation by satan. However, God pulls people away from these tricks of satan.

One of the satan’s trick is to create the doubts in the minds of believers. In Greek, the word “doubt” literally means hesitant or lack of confidence.

In the Old Testament, we can see Sarah doubted that she will bear a son. Moses is another example where in he doubted his call. He thought he couldn’t even speak properly. In the New Testament, Thomas was verily remembered as the doubting Thomas.

If we notice, during the beginning, satan tried to put doubt in mind of Eve.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

Many people now a days even doubt on the word of God itself, whether or not, it is true.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Here if we notice, the tempter puts a doubt from Eve that God is holding back something from her. Based on this doubt, Eve may have thought, “Is God really keeping something off from me?”

God’s word teaches the way of life, how it needs to be lived. However, enemy is at work, trying to bring doubts with satan’s tricks.

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'”

If we notice here, first she listens to the enemy and now she is responding to the enemy. Her first mistake is that she listened to the serpent. Bible suggests that we shouldn’t talk with enemy, because the enemy wants you to continue with a conversation with him, which will go on and on and on. Eve didn’t completely understood God’s word and His plan. Her understanding was very less and incomplete, thats why she misquoted God’s command.

God said, not to even touch the fruit otherwise you will die. But we see that Eve literally was deceived with the wrong ideas given to her by the enemy and literally misquoted God.

But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.”

And give no opportunity to the devil.

But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Remember, the word of God is eternal and true. We need to accept it and receive it as it is and avoid any doubts.

Now the question is, why would the devil wants to create a doubt in our mind? Well, simple answer to this is that satan is jealous .Adam & Eve were living in a beautiful garden of Eden, but enemy wasn’t happy about it and he wanted to bring both Adam & Eve away from God.

When you are allowing God to fulfill, He will move you and bring you to victory.

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

Enemy raises people to speak against you and sometimes he himself talks. When enemy approached Eve, she couldn’t reply properly to satan. However, if we see the life of Jesus Christ, enemy tried to trick three times, but Jesus rebuked satan and didn’t contribued conversation with him.

People of God, if you are not sure what exactly is the word of God, you will remain doubtful and destroy your own life. Doubt will not build your relationship with God, and that’s what enemy wants to do, i.e. by distorting the truth and misquoting the scriptures.

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

Now my question to you is, how important is the word of God to you?

The word of God will tell a lot about our life, especially what direction your life is going. However, if the word of God is not the priority, there is no way. Do not allow that doubt to brew in your life.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
