Good morning Church amd we wlcome you in Jesus’ name!

Today we will be beginning with a verse from the gospel of Matthew.
When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.  In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.  People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.
Matthew 24:37‭-‬39
Christ foretells his second coming. It is usual for prophets to speak of things as near and just at hand, to express the greatness and certainty of them. Concerning Christ’s second coming, it is foretold that there shall be a great change, in order to the making all things new. Then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds. At his first coming, he was set for a sign that should be spoken against, but at his second coming, a sign that should be admired. Sooner or later, all sinners will be mourners; but repenting sinners look to Christ, and mourn after a godly sort; and those who sow in those tears shall shortly reap in joy. Impenitent sinners shall see Him whom they have pierced, and, though they laugh now, shall mourn and weep in endless horror and despair. The elect of God are scattered abroad; there are some in all places, and all nations; but when that great gathering day comes, there shall not one of them be missing. Distance of place shall keep none out of heaven. Our Lord declares that the Jews should never cease to be a distinct people, until all things he had been predicting were fulfilled. His prophecy reaches to the day of final judgment; therefore he here, foretells that Judah shall never cease to exist as a distinct people, so long as this world shall endure. Men of the world scheme and plan for generation upon generation here, but they plan not with reference to the overwhelming, approaching, and most certain event of Christ’s second coming, which shall do away every human scheme, and set aside for ever all that God forbids. That will be as surprising a day, as the deluge to the old world. Apply this, first, to temporal judgments, particularly that which was then hastening upon the nation and people of the Jews. Secondly, to the eternal judgment. Christ here shows the state of the old world when the deluge came. They were secure and careless; they knew not, until the flood came; and they believed not. Did we know aright that all earthly things must shortly pass away, we should not set our eyes and hearts so much upon them as we do. The evil day is not the further off for men’s putting it far from them. What words can more strongly describe the suddenness of our Saviour’s coming! Men will be at their respective businesses, and suddenly the Lord of glory will appear. Women will be in their house employments, but in that moment every other work will be laid aside, and every heart will turn inward and say, It is the Lord! Am I prepared to meet him? Can I stand before him? And what, in fact, is the day of judgment to the whole world, but the day of death to every one?
The word of God affirms that the way it happened during the time of Noah (people were eating, drinking, celebrating, performing daily chores etc.), similar will happen during Jesus’ second coming. All of a sudden!
The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the Lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” But Noah found favor with the Lord .
Genesis 6:5‭-‬8
So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!
Genesis 6:13
Unlike others, Noah listened to the voice of God. When God said, “Flood is coming!” Noah believed without second thought.
Now what all can we learn from this?

1: God has always judged sin.

God is faithful and He wants everyone to ve saved, so He has given us sinners sufficient time. Time for us to turn back to Him, and that is the heart of God. And God has promised salvation and He will give it to us if we fulfill what God has asked us to do. What has God asked us to do? Well, a simple response to that is to “Follow Him!”
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.”
Genesis 6:3
Many times we struggle and go through difficult times, understand this that God never leaves us.

2: In the midst of His judgement, there is grace tented.

Noah spent 40 days and 40 nights along with his people and the wild.
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock with him in the boat. He sent a wind to blow across the earth, and the floodwaters began to recede.
Genesis 8:1
Irrespective of problems in your life or ongoing issues, God does not forgets. He remembers you.
However ‘Remember’ as an English word doesnt gives a clear picture. Hebrew gives an altogether differemt picture when translated. In Hebrew, ‘Remember’ means “To add upon a covenent He has made with.”
God does not gives up on you, no matter how far you are God. He waits patiently for us and refuses to abandon His children.
And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.
2 Peter 2:5
There are two things we learn from the aforementioned verses.
– Noah was a righteous man.
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.
Genesis 6:9
What do we understand with Noah being blameless or righteous man? Well that means, “Noah believed in God with all his heart and took God seriously.”
Not just Noah, people who had faith in God, God recognizes their righteousness.
And Abram believed the Lord , and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.
Genesis 15:6
Same was with Job. They were not like others, they were blameless, jot because it was just that way, but because they all put their trust in God with unconditional faith and took God seriously.
God is looking for one person, do you want to be that ‘One Person?’
Noah walked with God as we read in Genesis 6:9. Enoch also walked with God.
Walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.
Genesis 5:24
Second thing we learn from the life of Noah is…
– Noah also made provision for his family.
Noah built an ark for his family, have you built it yet?
Providing for family isn’t just about giving, it is also about disciplining. Discipline of children, self discipline to be led by the word of God, keeping am order at home as acceptable in the eyes of God.
God made a covenant with Noah, that He will never destroy with flood again. Just because of one man, we all are
There are two aspects to Noah’s litef also that you can apply in your own life:
1: You need to be that man who will work for your family.
Not just food but also the living water, i.e. Jesus Himself. Providing the water of life to your family should be on yoir priority.
2: Build an ark.
Do not question God’s plan, just submit and trust Him. Have faith in God and take Him seriously.
Well, what and how you can do? The answer is simple, unconditional submission!
Along with submitting, you also need to pray as ask God to help you build an ark.
Do you want to build an ark for your family and fo you want to be the provider to yiur family, just like Noah was? If your response is ‘Yes’, then submit yourself today and let God take you over. Trust us that your life will be changed and you will be blessed!

We hope you are encouraged with today’s word.  We would love to see you for next service as well. God bless!
